I am the first born in a family of five with two younger sisters. My parents came to the United States in the early to mid 80's from South Korea. For as long as I can remember, I was pushed to go to church (whether I enjoyed it or not). Though I grew up attending church my whole life, I would not come to realize the fact that I needed a savior until I was an upperclassman in high school. From that moment on, it has been a painstakingly slow crawl on this road called progressive sanctification. Each day I am reminded of how much I need Christ and how unworthy of Him I am.
I came across Compass Christian Center in the Fall of 2008 and was encouraged by the church's emphasis on leading Christ-centered lives. After several months of attendance, it looked like God was opening doors for me in the Children's Department (teaching a class, and now leading the department) and that's what I have been doing since January 2009.
I finished my undergraduate studies at the University of Washington in 2008 and majored in Comparative Religion. Currently I am studying for my Masters in Divinity at Regent College in Vancouver BC with the hopes of graduating in the Summer of 2012. I have found many challenges and difficulties in leading a whole ministry, but it comes nowhere near the tremendous blessings and joy that I have received. I hope to continue to minister in the Seattle area, but I guess we'll have to wait and see where God places me.
