I was born in Vietnam and grew up in Orange County, CA. I have always felt God’s calling upon my life to serve Him. However, it was not clear to me where and in what capacity that God wanted me to serve. So I continued with my life in my studies at University of California, Irvine where I received by BA in economics. Then I went to California State University, Long Beach to complete my MA in economics. After that, I was accepted into the PhD program for economics at the University of Washington, Seattle. Meanwhile, I continued to serve in the local Vietnamese churches in different roles as worship leader, Sunday school teacher, small group leader, and deacon. However, mid-way through my doctoral studies, God reaffirmed my calling into the ministry and specified my calling to Next Generation church planting.

In 2006, I discontinued my studies in economics and enrolled at Fuller Seminary Northwest to complete an M.Div. Meanwhile, I received a teaching position in the economics department at Highline Community College in Des Moines, WA. In God’s perfect timing, He has brought me to Compass to serve Him and the people at Compass. I am truly excited to be community at Compass and a part of the work that God is doing in and through Compass.
